    • John Atencio

John AtencioIn a career spanning four decades, John Atencio is an industry legend. A native of Colorado, John is known for his artistry, design aesthetic and attention to detail. His iconic bold lines and soft curves have become synonymous with a John Atencio creation. Each design reflects a personal story – his inspiration.

John began his journey with his first store in a small alley near CSU in Fort Collins, Colorado. Now celebrating forty years, John continues with inspired new collections - including the introduction of pantheon - his inaugural watch collection. John's newest signature couture collection brings ethically sourced, rare gemstones to the forefront with one of a kind designs, his solid commitment to creativity.

John recently opened his seventh retail boutique – on trendy pearl west in boulder. He is now looking beyond Colorado to expanding his wholesale business. In doing so, he looks forward to creating solid partnerships with fine retailers across the United States. His presence at JCK Tucson is his first foray back into the trade show arena.

John has been honored with many design awards during his career – perhaps the most significant is the prestigious De Beers Diamonds of Distinction award for his innovative use of the trillion diamond. He continues his use of the trillion in current collections.

John is an experienced leader in the jewelry industry managing seven retail locations, an extensive wholesale business and an e-commerce outlet. His artistry extends beyond jewelry into creating fine art on canvas.

    • Peter Schmid

Peter Schmid Peter Schmid owns Atelier Zobel in Konstanz, Germany. Original owner Michael Zobel was a master craftsman who honed his skills and talent to create pieces that are arresting in their visual impact and remarkable in their goldsmithing and soldering technique. He combined metals in new, sensual, even erotic ways. The effect was electrifying. Working at his side was protégé Peter Schmid.

Like Zobel before him, Peter is both artist and craftsman, and he brings that special blend to every piece he creates.

His chief inspiration is character: the character of place, the character of material, even the character of intent. Mountains and rivers inspire him. Precious stones inspire him. And the idea of what he is making inspires him, whether it's a ring or a brooch or a bracelet, or one that transforms into another.

For Peter, every piece is about the interaction of visual elements with invisible inspiration. His work is revered worldwide for its attention to detail, its fusion of gold and silver, his gemstone settings, and the fluid movement all his pieces seem to share.
